There are many filming locations in Uganda and today we are concentrating in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. In order to do this, you have to book your filming safari so that we have enough time to process the paper work which allows you to film in Uganda.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located in the south-western Uganda home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is surely the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer.

Tourism in Bwindi focuses on gorilla tracking and also as filming in four locations: Buhoma in the northwest of the park, Ruhija in the east, Nkuringo in the southwest and Rushaga in the south.

In Bwindi Forest, there are so many things that one can film but the most common thing that attracts those filming in the rain forest is the rare endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park boosts the highest number of mountain gorillas compared to Virunga National Park in Congo and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.

Uganda has over 15 habituated gorilla families ready for gorilla trekking and filming, but Bwindi Forest has other attractions that can be filmed and they include; birds, plants as well as community people known as the Batwa experience.

Through the help of Nature Adventure Uganda, you can secure all the necessary documents for filming mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest National Park. For one to film in this park, you will need permission from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

A contract has to be signed between UWA and the filming company before the permit is issued. In this contract all terms and conditions are laid out properly including all filming fees as required by UWA. Prior booking of the permit is required.

In Uganda all gorilla trekking permits and filming permits and every crew member is required to have both gorilla trekking permit and filming permit for them to be allowed to film gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable forest and Mgahinga Gorilla Park and these permits are issued by Uganda Wildlife Authority at head office in Kampala which we do help you to reach them for those permits.
